Oracy Centre of Excellence
We are pleased to announce that Mount Pleasant Junior School is an Oracy Centre of Excellence! We began our oracy journey in 2019, as part of the school’s improvement plan to develop children’s communication. Since then, we have worked with Voice 21 – the UK’s leading organisation for developing children’s articulation. Many of the ways that we develop speaking and listening skills have been recognised as excellent practice. This accreditation recognises our commitment in our school vision of children understanding that ‘their voice matters’ including the positive impact they have on others. This was clearly demonstrated when our Oracy Ambassadors led the presentation to the Voice 21 panel, expertly articulating the impact of oracy in our school. The panel were left speechless with the confidence and eloquence of our children! Please enjoy reading our report to find out the positive impact oracy has had on our whole school community.
